Fundraising – Grant Writer

Volunteers

Grant writing has played a key role in Greenwood's receiving funds to continue operating. Grant writing volunteers research, prioritize, and apply for grants from a wide variety of governmental, private, and public foundations and institutions. If a grant application is funded, the grant writing volunteer is expected to complete all required follow-up reports.

If you have experience grant-writing, or are willing to learn, we hope you will join our grant-writing team! This is a volunteer opportunity that can be done from home with the opportunity to come to the Center to collect the information you need. Grant writing volunteers work with the Executive Director in finding and completing grants.

Preferred Qualifications

Requirements

We require that grant writers commit to any grant application they start until submission. Applicants under the age of 18 cannot be admitted into the Center, according to DOW regulations.

Did You Know? Although it can climb up the trunks of trees and hammer on wood like other woodpeckers, the Northern Flicker prefers to find food on the ground. Ants are its favorite food, and the flicker digs in the dirt to find them. It uses its long barbed tongue to lap up the ants.
