In addition to Greenwood's mission to rehabilitate and release wild animals, we also strive to educate the public by emphasizing humane solutions to human/wildlife interactions. Our Education-Outreach Volunteers visit schools, events and other organizations to teach ways to coexist with our wildlife neighbors and what to do in case you ever find yourself in a situation with a wild animal. Anyone with an earnest desire to educate the community about these issues is welcome to volunteer.

Community outreach programs are scheduled frequently and volunteers should be available to attend preferred events. Greenwood strives to reach schools, local organizations and events in and around Boulder County.

Volunteer activities may include:

Requirements

Volunteers should be energetic, outgoing individuals willing to help Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center further its mission. They should possess good social skills and an earnest desire to educate others. A background in education or public speaking is a plus.

Why Volunteer for the Education and Outreach Team?

Volunteers are a valuable resource at Greenwood, and play an integral role in many of our projects. As an Education-Outreach Volunteer, you are helping Colorado's wildlife by educating your community while learning something yourself! You are also supporting Greenwood and promoting awareness of its mission. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to work with the public or children.
